Amazon To Launch Its Own AdWords Type Ad System

by T2D Staff on August 23, 2014

Amazon is trying not to leave any stone unturned to compete against Google. It is reported the retail giant is expanding its in-house ads system.

Wall Street Journal reports Amazon is developing a new software that can unseat Google’s ad placement platform.

It is also reported that the retail giant may beef up the ad placement business on other sites too to make its way into Google’s multi-dollar AdWords’ empire.

As of now it has ample data from customers who shop via its e-commerce website. It knows the habit of customers who browse items but have not yet pressed the purchase button.

Amazon thinks such behavior of customers can be lucrative selling point when other websites sign up to the new ad system of theirs.

WSJ writes Amazon may have named it as Amazon Sponsored Links.

Amazon has not yet commented on it yet.
